LONDON (AP) - Anton Ferdinand's snub of John Terry in the pre-match handshake overshadowed Chelsea's 0-0 draw at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The result ended the European champions' perfect start in the English Premier League on a day when Arsenal and Manchester United enjoyed big home wins.

Terry was jeered throughout a game played in a hostile atmosphere at Loftus Road in London. The match came two months after he was acquitted of racially abusing Ferdinand in a league game last year.

After opening with three straight wins, Chelsea was fortunate to escape with a draw. Park Ji-sung and Bobby Zamora wasted excellent chances for QPR in the second half. Eden Hazard came closest to scoring for Chelsea, which stays in first place with 10 points.

Arsenal thrashed Southampton 6-1 while United, sparked by Paul Scholes' goal on his 700th game for the club, routed Wigan 4-0. The results allowed both winners to leapfrog defending champion Manchester City, which drew 1-1 at Stoke.

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) - Sevilla struck early and held on to deal Real Madrid a 1-0 loss as the defending Spanish champions fell eight points behind pacesetter Barcelona.

A short-handed Barcelona, meanwhile, routed Getafe 4-1 as Lionel Messi came on with half an hour to play and added to Adriano's opener with a pair of goals before David Villa netted to keep them perfect in league play.

Madrid, which has won just once in four rounds, was unsettled at the start at Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium and Piotr Trochowski capitalized to score from a corner two minutes in, breaking Sevilla's streak of seven straight defeats to Madrid.

Also, Valencia beat Celta Vigo 2-1 and Malaga downed Levante 3-1 before their respective Champions League openers against Bayern Munich and Zenit St. Petersburg.

MILAN (AP) - AC Milan lost to Atalanta 1-0 on Luca Cigarini's shot from the top of the penalty area in the 64th minute. This was Milan's second consecutive home defeat in the Italian league, following a 1-0 defeat to Sampdoria in the home opener.

Milan is three points behind the three co-leaders, each playing on Sunday. Defending champion Juventus visits Genoa, Napoli hosts Parma and Lazio plays Chievo Verona.

Atalanta, which began the season with a two-point penalty from a betting scandal, moved into positive territory with two points.

Cagliari scored a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Palermo. Cagliari has two points through three rounds while Palermo earned its first point after getting shut out in its opening two matches.
